The Aveni Medical Library is open to all medical staff, residents, interns, students, and hospital employees. The Library has recently undergone major renovations and offers a strong collection with up-to-date technology as well as a welcoming and studious atmosphere. A full-time librarian staffs the Library Monday - Friday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Additionally, there is an after-hours policy that provides 24- hour access to the library.

The current collection consists of over 500 monographs, 85 current journal subscriptions, and a strong audio and video collection. In addition, the Library offers 5 PCs for patron use. Each computer has Internet access as well as software programs in various clinical fields, such as Cardiology, Critical Care, Dermatology, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Ob/Gyn. As part of the University Hospitals Health System, the Aveni Medical Library has access to the Core Library Intranet. The Intranet offers access to many full-text journals, increasing the journal collection from 85 current subscriptions to over 500. The Core Library also offers MDConsult, Harrison's Online, images.MD, and OVID Online. The OVID databases include MEDLINE, CINAHL, PsycINFO, and EBM/Cochrane.
